6-27-10 PA Philadelphia 34&Clearfield St.'s- 4th Alarm Warehouse

On June 28th, 2010 Philadelphia firefighters were alerted of a warehouse fire in the Strawberry Mansion section of the City at 3000 N. 34th Street at 2 p.m. Companies arrived to find heavy smoke and fire from the warehouse. Battalion 8 started striking extra alarms as fire was consuming the warehouse. Companies secured water supplies and began to set up for defensive operations as walls were starting to collapse. The blaze reached 4 alarms as companies surrounded the 150x5000 square foot warehouse with Ladder Pipes and master streams. Multiple rehabs and E.M.S units were requested to the scene as temps. were in the 90’s. 130 firefighters were called to battle the blaze which was placed under control at 3:55 p.m. Petco was called to secure the power for over 100 dwellings as firefighters were still battling the fire. The building was occupied by a door manufacturer company. The Philadelphia Fire Department has the fire under investigation.
