5-25-2011(Philadelphia PA) 3150 Orthodox St.-3rd Alarm Scrap Yard
On May 25, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. calls were received for a building on fire at 3150 Orthodox Street in Philadelphia.
Foam 33 arrived and reported a large pile of Class A material burning.
Command arrived and struck a 2nd alarm. Companies secured water supplies and went in operation with multiple hand lines as the Ladder Pipes were being set up.
A 3rd alarm was struck as Command reported a 300x500 pile fully involved.
Crews surrounded the pile and remained in operation for an extended period of time.
The owner of the scrap yard reported was electronics that were going to be recycled. He was pleased and thanked the firemen for preventing the fire spread to the buildings.
