2-5-2017(Gloucester County) DEPTFORD - 35 Hayes Avenue - Dwelling Fire

Battalion Chief Thomas arrived with Deptford Police to find a 1 1/2 story single family home, with heavy smoke throughout. The residents reported there was an active fire in the basement. Members from Deptford Fire Department along with members from the Deptford Police Department preformed an effective rescue of an elderly bed ridden female from the residences The fire was placed under control within the hour. 1 resident was transported to a local ER for an evaluation. The fire is been investigated by the fire marshal’s office.
