11-23-15 Deptford Township (GLOUCESTER COUNTY) - 1153 Lexington Avenue - Dwelling Fire
District 9 was dispatched around 2125hours for a dwelling fire at 1153 Lexington Avenue in Deptford Township. Duty Engine 921 arrived with Battalion Chief Rick Thomas; Initial Reports were a 1 story rancher, with fire and smoke showing from the garage area. Engine 921 crew made the initial attack on the fire and found a well involved basement. Crews attempted to make access to the basement, when conditions quickly deteriorated. Battalion 9201 ordered the evacuation of the interior crews. At some point a mayday was announced, and crews were quickly removed from the dwelling and a PAR was preformed. All members were accounted for and no injuries were to report. Crews began a defensive attack on the structure and worked for over an hour to control the fire. The fire was placed under control at 2248hrs. The fire is been investigated by the Gloucester County Fire Marshal’s Office in-conjunction with the Deptford Fire Marshal’s Office and the Deptford Police Department. 1 civilian was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation.
