12-22-2012 (Gloucester County) WOOLWICH TWP - 134 Sherwood Drive - 2nd Alarm Dwelling
District 25 and Gloucester County EMS were dispatched to 134 Sherwood Dr. for a reported working dwelling fire. CFM-1 arrived on location to find a 2 1/2 story wood frame single family dwelling with fire showing from the B/C corner. The fire quickly spread and the all hands box was requested by 25-101. Numerous tankers were requested to the scene due to lack of water sources in neighborhood. Crews did attempt a aggressive interior attack but were forced out, due to rapidly deteriorating conditions with in the dwelling. Once a water supply was established from the Gloucester County Tender Task Force, Ladder 2516 was able to go in-service and knock down all heavy fire. Eventually a second alarm was requested, addition companies were placed in-service in the area to suppress any embers that may spark other spot fires. Companies from both Gloucester and Salem Counties responded to this 2 alarm blaze. There were no injuries to report, and the home owners were reported not home at the time of the fire. The fire is being investigated by the County Fire Marshal's Office along with the County Prosecutors Office, in conjunction with the Woolwich Police Department.
