3-23-2012 (Gloucester County) WOODBURY HEIGHTS - 500 ELM AVE - FIREHOUSE FIRE - ALL HANDS WORKING

Around 0530 Gloucester County Communications began receiving numerous calls for a fire at the Woodbury Heights Fire Department on Elm Ave, in Woodbury Heights. Police arrived on location first reporting fire showing from the second floor of the firehouse. Members arrived quickly and began removing gear and apparatus, all apparatus was removed safety and members went right to work extinguishing the blaze. Chief Conley arrived on scene and established command, the hands box was requested bringing additional companies to the scene. Numerous master streams were established, 2 ladders pipes were placed in service to knock the bulk of the fire down. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down, crews went back inside to begin an extensive overhaul operation. 2 firefighters were transported to the hospital for injuries. The fire is under investigation by the Woodbury Heights Police Department, Gloucester County Fire Marshal's Office, and Gloucester County Prosecutors Office.

On Scene were companies from Woodbury Heights, Wenonah, Oak Valley (Deptford), Tacoma (Deptford), Woodbury, East Greenwich, Greenfields (West Deptford), and Colonial Manor (West Deptford), along with Members from Woodbury Heights PD, Mantua PD, Deptford PD, and Deptford ESU and Woodbury Heights EMS.
