A heavy wrecker from Riehl’s Towing was also special called to assist in the extrication of a subject who was pinned in his Kia Sportage by the overturned asphalt tanker. Crews from the three townships stabilized the vehicles involved and worked to cut parts of the car away from the patient as the tow truck from Riehl’s lifted the back of the tanker. Engine 1911 set up a heli-spot on the Interstate for Medi Vac 5 just south of the accident scene. There were four passenger vehicles and one tractor trailer involved in the crash. The BLS units transported five patients to area hospitals with the worse being flown to Cooper Trauma. Gloucester County CBRNE was also on scene to assist due to the tanker being involved.
