  1. 2011 FireGrounds

5-10-2011 (Camden County) COLLINGSWOOD - 812 Grant Ave - Dwelling All Hands

Task Force 16 was dispatched for a reported dwelling fire. Police reported that a smoke column was seen from several blocks away. Squad 16 and 1601 arrived with heavy fire showing from the rear of the dwelling. The squad laid a supply line and stretched a hand line to attack the fire. Mutual Aid was received from Westmont, Gloucester City, Mt. Ephraim, Haddonfield and Pennsauken. Crews worked hard to aggressively attack the fire. The building was broken into four different apartments and fire was extending throughout the building. Due to structural instability Chief Amet ordered everyone out of the building to switch to a defensive attack. The fire was brought under control approximately two hours after dispatch. One firefighter was taken to the hospital due to an injury from a dog bite. The building was razed due to being a safety hazard.
