1-8-2011 (Camden County) CAMDEN 713 Mt. Vernon St.- All Hands
On January 8, 2011 a dwelling fire was dispatched on the South side of Camden at 713 Mt. Vernon St. Camden County Communications advised responding units they were receiving multiple calls for a house on fire in the middle of the block. Engine 8 arrived to find a 2 story stand alone dwelling with heavy smoke showing from the 2nd floor. Battalion 1 struck the all hands. Crews went in to operation securing a water supply and leading off with a 1 ¾” hand line. A back up line was stretched by the 2nd due Engine. Ladder 1 placed ground ladders as the Rescue Company performed a primary search. The primary search was negative for occupants but firefighters found 2 puppies in the dwelling. They were removed and given to EMS. Crews faced heavy fire conditions on the 2nd floor. The fire was knocked down and placed under control.No firefighter injuries were reported on the fire ground. The Camden City Fire Marshal’s office has the fire under investigation.
