1-18-2011 (Camden County)CAMDEN Police & Fire Lay Offs

On Tuesday January 18, 2011 it was the end of a career for over 200 Police and Firefighters combined in Camden City, NJ.
The nations 2nd most dangerous city laid off 163 Police Officers, half of its workforce, and 67 Firefighters, 1/3 of its workforce after voting unanimously by City Council.
Police Officers and Firefighters joined as one at the F.O.P Lodge to fill paperwork out and hand in equipment. Police Officers lined the street with their work boots, then proceeded to Fire Headquarters 8 blocks away, passing City Hall. There, firefighters lined the apron with their helmets, and turned in all City issued gear.
