01-21-2011 (Camden County) BELLMAWR - Bellmawr Manor Apartments - 1020 Kings Highway - MVC w/Entrapment

As Reported by http://www.bellmawrfire.com On Friday evening January 21st, Bellmawr firefighters responded to the Bellmawr Manor Apartments on Kings Highway for an MVA - Rescue Assignment. Engine 332 arrived to find a vehicle into the building w/ occuppant still inside the vehicle and heavy damage to the building. Rescue & Squad 32 arrived and went to work with Engine 332's crew to stabilize the vehicle and assess the building damage. The occupant was removed without extrication and treated by Runnemede EMS. Companies then proceeded to conduct supplemental shoring with equipment carried on Rescue 32, so the apartments on the 1st & 2nd floors could be searched for any unaccounted for residents. Once the temporary shoring was in-place the companies gained access to all the apartments and secured interior utilities. The vehicle was cleared of debris and removed from the building by a local tow company. Scene was then turned over to the apartment complex management. Capt Griffith had command of the incident.
