7-3-2009(Camden County)PENNSAUKEN 2165 Haddonfield Rd.- All Hands Dwelling

At 12:33 A.M, Pennsauken Fire crews were dispatched to the area of 2181 Old Haddonfield Road in Pennsauken, for a reported dwelling fire. Police arrived and confirmed to Communications of a working fire. 11102 arrived on location at 2165 and reported a wood frame 2 ½ story, single family dwelling, 40x60, with heavy fire and smoke showing from the 2nd floor and the attic area. The all hands box was struck. Orders were given for the 1st due to lead off with a 1 3/4“ hand line and the 2nd due to secure a water supply. Squad 11-1 arrived and went in operation with two 1 ¾” hand lines. At the 10 minute mark Command reported still operating with heavy fire. At the 20 minute mark, Command reported companies were switching to defensive operations. All firefighters exited the fire building and PAR was completed. Crews set up for master stream operations as fire conditions were spreading on the 2nd floor with fire through the roof. Companies placed two 2 ½” hand lines, a deck gun, portable monitor and the Ladder Pipe in operation to surround the dwelling. At the 40 minute mark Command reported the bulk of the fire was knocked down. Once the fire was knocked down crews re entered the dwelling to knock hot spots and void spaces. The fire was placed under control at 2:23. The Pennsauken Fire Department and Camden County Fire Marshals have the fire under investigation.The American Red Cross was notified for the 2 adults and 3 children that were displaced from the dwelling. No injuries were reported on the fire ground.
