6-15-2009(Camden County)CHERRY HILL 737 Cooper Landing Rd.-All Hands Dwelling
At 1 p.m. Cherry Hill firefighters were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire at 737 Cooper Landing Road. While units were responding Police were on location reporting fire in the rear with small explosions being heard inside the dwelling. Crews arrived to find a 2 ½ story, wood frame dwelling with smoke showing. Companies stretched and went in operation with two 1 ¾” hand lines. Interior companies were reporting a dwelling under construction with fire conditions extending in the attic. Command reported crews making good progress as bulk of the fire was knocked down. The fire was placed under control without any injuries to firefighters. CHFD reported the small explosions that were heard were small tanks used by the contractors in the dwelling as it was being rehabbed. The Cherry Hill Fire Marshals has the fire under investigation.
