7-19-2008(Gloucester County)DEPTFORD 730 Willis Ave-3rd Alarm Dwelling

Deptford firefighters were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire at 730 Wills Ave on a scorching Saturday.Police arrived and reported heavy smoke showing. Chief 9201 arrived on location and reported a 2 ½ story single family dwelling with heavy smoke showing with fire from division C. Crews arrived secured a water supply and went in operation with multiple hand lines. The 2nd Alarm was transmitted bringing additional manpower to the scene. Fire conditions worsened as Command ordered all companies out of the building and set up for defensive operations. 2 Ladder Pipes were placed in operation as well as several hand lines. A 3rd Alarm was transmitted for additional manpower. Rehabs were set up for companies operating at the fire scene as temperatures reached the high 90’s. The Gloucester County Fire Marshals and Deptford Fire Department have the fire under investigation.
