6-7-2008(Camden County)CAMDEN 1191 Jackson St.-2nd Alarm Dwelling
A dwelling box was dispatched at 1191 Jackson Street. Battalion 1 arrived and reported a 2 story twin with heavy fire conditions on the 1st floor making this an all hands fire. Squad 7 wrapped a plug to establish a water supply only to find it being a bad hydrant. Companies arrived and worked off of tank water as the fire extended to the 2nd floor of the dwelling. Crews deployed several hand lines and worked in a defensive mode. Battalion 1 struck the 2nd alarm as fire conditions worsened. Companies remained in defensive operations during the job. Mutual aid from Collingswood was called for the Ladder on the 2nd alarm. No injuries were reported on the fire ground. The fire is under investigation by the Camden City Fire Marshals Office.
