4-3-2008(Gloucester County)PITMAN 103 Lexington Ave-3rd Alarm Dwelling
Shortly after 11:30 am a dwelling was dispatched in Pitman. Companies responding were advised of a possible basement fire at 103 Lexington Ave. Police arrived and reported a working fire. Command arrived and reported a 2 ½ story single family dwelling with heavy smoke showing. The 2nd Alarm was transmitted. Companies went into operation with a 1 ¾” hand line to find fire conditions in the basement and in the walls. Pitman’s Truck Company went to the roof to vent. Minutes after cutting the vent hole flames ripped through the attic area. The 3rd Alarm was transmitted bringing in additional manpower. Crews battles the blaze for near an hour before bringing it under control. No injuries were reported on the fire ground.
