11-6-2008(Camden County)CAMDEN 1254 Sycamore St.-All Hands Dwelling

The Camden City Fire Department was dispatched for a dwelling fire at 1254 Sycamore Street. ALS and BLS were added on the box for a report of a disabled occupant not confirmed if they were able to make it out or not. Squad 7 arrived on location and reported heavy fire showing from the 1st floor. Battalion 1 arrived and reported a 2 story middle of the row dwelling with heavy fire, striking the all hands. Squad 7 went into operation with a 1 ¾” hand line to battle heavy fire conditions on the 1st floor. Primary and secondary searches were negative. EMS treated the occupant who was able to escape from the house. The occupant was transported to an area hospital with smoke inhalation. EMS was also called for a firefighter who slipped and fell while operating on the fire ground. He was treated and transported with an ankle injury. The fire was placed under control with no extension into the attached exposures. The Camden City Fire Marshals have the fire under investigation.
