10-30-2008(Camden County) CAMDEN 738 Walnut St.-All Hands Dwelling
At 12:35 a.m. a box was transmitted for a dwelling fire at 738 Walnut Street in Camden City. Engine Company 8 arrived on location with 2 story middle of the row, ordinary construction with heavy fire conditions in the rear. Battalion 1 arrived and struck the all hands adding the 2nd Chief and the 3rd Engine Company. Squad 7 secured a water supply as Engine 8 went in operation with a 1 ¾” hand line. Ladder 2 through ground Ladders as Ladder 1 stood by as the FAST team. Rescue 1 performed searches with negative results. Battalion 1 reported an outside fire with extension into the dwelling and fire conditions on the first and second floor with heavy smoke throughout. Camden City EMS was called to the scene for one occupant who stated she was living there and suffered smoke inhalation. The fire was brought under control with no injuries to firefighters. The Camden City Fire Marshals Office has the fire under investigation.
